September 29, 2011: Alex Ross Art Exhibition Featured in Pittsburgh

A new exhibition entitled “Heroes and Villains: The Comic Book Art of Alex Ross” is scheduled to open at the The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA on October 1st.
The exhibition will feature paintings and sketches from Ross’ early career from projects like Marvels and Kingdom Come as well as works from more recent projects such as Justice, Flash Gordon, and Green Hornet.

September 29, 2011: Victim of Superman Theft Receives Call from Brandon Routh

STLToday.com reports that Superman fan Mike Meyer, who recently received over 350 gifts and letters from fellow fans of the Man of Steel in response to the theft of part of his collection a few weeks ago, also received a surprising phone call from actor Brandon Routh who starred as the Man of Steel in the 2006 film, “Superman Returns”.
[Mike] picked up the phone last week to hear the voice of “Superman Returns” star Brandon Routh, a 31-year-old actor and former model originally from Norwalk, Iowa. The two talked about – what else – all things Superman for nearly half an hour.

September 29, 2011: Calgary Group Breaks Superman World Record

We recently reported on the staff of Calgary based Nexen, Inc. setting out to break the Guinness Record for the “World’s Largest Gathering of People Dressed As Superman” and on September 28th, that’s just what they did.
The Calgary Herald reports that hundreds of staffers of the energy company kicked off their “Be a Superhero” campaign for the United Way by breaking the world record which was previously held by an athletic club in Ireland.
